Here at Rialto Scouting, we have a simple mantra regarding our adult leadership: every Scout deserves a trained leader! A trained leader is key to so helping the Scouts achieve their full potential while also keeping the tenants of Scouting in mind.
While most of the trainings are accessible online, you will need to create a My.Scouting.Org account in order to access these trainings. The bonus is that the login that is used for My.Scouting.Org also works as the login for Scoutbook.Org as well.
BALOO, or Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation, is a Cub Scout level training that takes place with an outdoor camping component and an online prerequisite course titled BALOO Prerequisite Training. This is a training that is mandatory in order for a Cub Scout Pack to have an overnight event. This is a training that will be hosted periodically by either the Old Baldy District or the California Inland Empire Council (our home district and council), but the option to attend BALOO outside of our home district or council is available as well.
IOLS, or Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills, is a Scout Troop level training that is mandatory for Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters to be fully trained in their position. This is a training that will be hosted periodically by either the Old Baldy District or the California Inland Empire Council (our home district and council), but the option to attend IOLS outside of our home district or council is available as well.
Wood Badge is an optional advanced leadership course that is available to any adult leader who is fully trained in their position. This is a course that develops various leadership skills and the methods and aims of Scouting to create a stronger leader. There is an online prerequisite that is titled Wood Badge Pre-Course Orientation. This is a training that will be hosted yearly by the California Inland Empire Council (our home council), but the option to attend Wood Badge outside of our council is available as well.
